Norwalk Harbor is a notable recreational and commercial harbor at the estuary of the Norwalk River where it flows into Long Island Sound in Norwalk, Connecticut, United States. The last portion of the Norwalk River from the head of navigation near Wall Street in Central Norwalk to the Long Island Sound forms Norwalk Harbor. It is a federal navigation channel of the "recreational and small commercial harbor" variety.[1][2] In and around the harbor there are 15 marinas, 13 private clubs with boating facilities, and 5 commercial port facilities. There are more than 1800 berthing spaces and more than 500 harbor mooring locations. About 800 boats may be launched from storage racks at marinas and clubs as well as via the city maintained launching ramp in Veterans Park. More than 2700 commercial vessel trips to and from the harbor occur each year.[3] The main harbor channel is small enough to restrict the size of vessels that could attempt to use it. In 2001 waterborne commerce in the Harbor totaled 512,000 tons. Typical freight included fuel oil, sand, gravel, stone, and shellfish.[2] Descriptionedit  From the sound the main approach to the harbor lies to the southwest of Rowayton and Sheffield Island. The wider and deeper southwest approach is also known as "sheffield Harbor", whereas the narrower and shallower eastern approach is known as "Cockenoe Harbor.[4] There is a 4.7-mile-long channel extending from the outer harbor to the head of the harbor in Norwalk. The channel is 12 feet deep and 200 feet wide from the outer harbor to Gregory Point in East Norwalk, where it narrows to 150 feet wide up to the wharves at South Norwalk. The channel then widens to 250 feet along the wharves to the Washington Street (Stroffolino) Bridge. Upstream of the Washington street bridge the inner harbor lies along 1.5 miles of the river. The channel of the inner harbor is 10 feet deep and between 100-200 feet wide until it terminates at the head of the harbor at the Wall Street bridge in central Norwalk. There is an anchorage area 10 feet deep and 17 acres in area on the east side of the channel in the vicinity of Fitch Point in East Norwalk. There is also a 0.6-mile-long, six-foot-deep channel, 125-150 feet wide, extending northeast from the 10-foot anchorage opposite Fitch Point to the head of the harbor at East Norwalk. Another six-foot-deep anchorage area lies adjacent to the head of the harbor at East Norwalk.[5] List of inner harbor crossingseditThere are no bridges across the outer harbor or the approach channel. HistoryeditIn 1614 dutch navigator Adriaen Block explored the Connecticut coast and recorded a visit to the Norwalk Islands which lie at the outer boundary of the harbor. He referred to the group of islands as "The Archipelago".[6] As an aid to navigation at the harbor channel entrance the Sheffield Island Light was operational by 1826 (on what was called "Smith Island" at the time). In 1872 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started its first work on harbor improvements in Norwalk.[5] On January 21, 1897, the United States Congress agreed to spend $73,100.00 on aids to navigaton in Norwalk Harbor including lights and fog signals.[7] As a result of the expenditure Greens Ledge Light was operational by 1902 and Pecks Ledge Light was operational by 1906. The Sheffield Island light was discontinued as a federally maintained aid to navigation when the Greens Ledge Light was activated. The Ischoda Yacht Club was founded in 1886 along the western shore of Norwalk Harbor in South Norwalk and is among America's oldest Yacht Clubs.[8] The Norwalk Yacht Club was formed in August of 1894 in Wilson's Cove.[9] The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredged the harbor in 1950.[5] In October of 1955 a great flood washed down the Norwalk River and destroyed many of the buildings adjacent to the riverbanks. Today's Freese Park along Main Avenue was a built up commercial block before October 1955. The flood left a wake of destruction in the harbor that took a long time to recover from. The Connecticut Turnpike was built over the river in 1956-1958. The salt marsh just south of the Yankee Doodle bridge on the river's west bank was turned into a garbage dump, but has since been closed, capped, and turned into "Oyster Shell Park" (not to be confused with the native shell middens across the river on the east bank near "Oyster bend").[3] The Norwalk Harbor Commission was established in 1984 by the Norwalk City Council. The commission is responsible for maintaining a Harbor Management plan that includes maintaining the safe navigation in the harbor, policies for the harbor master, the promotion of the harbor, and the maintenance of the Visitors dock at Veterans Park.[10] The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers finished harbor re-dredging projects in 1980 and again in 2006. There will be a new dredging project for the inner and river portions of the harbor.[11] In the Spring of 2007 the Marine Unit of the Norwalk Police department launched a new 38 foot police boat the Riva. On July 10, 2007 the Norwalk Fire Department commissioned its first fireboat the Harry Bower named to honor a fire fighter who died in 2005. In the fall of 2007 the harbor was visited by the Skyline Princess a 120 foot Tri-level luxury motor yacht. The visit of the Skyline Princess was accompanied by private viewings of objects in the vessel's art galleries.[12] A recent utility project replaced an electric power transmission line from Connecticut to Long Island. Seven fluid filled cables originally layed in 1969 were replace in the fall of 2007 with three new solid dielectric cables. The existing cables are joined at the oil fired electric generating substation on Manresa Island in Norwalk Harbor. From there, they cross under Norwalk Harbor and Long Island Sound to connect at the Long Island Power Authority’s (“LIPA”) substation in the Town of Huntington, Northport, New York. AppearanceeditWhen we first meet Ariel in Obernewtyn he's described as somewhere between 11 and 13 years old with white blond curls and a high pitched, piping voice. The next time he's seen in Ashling, he's grown near to manhood (probably between 17 and 19 years old) and stands roughly 6' tall. Now Elspeth describes him as being impossibly beautiful with shoulder length blond hair, pale skin and grey eyes. The older Ariel has a husky and seductive voice and almost always wears only white in order to amplify his icy beauty. BackgroundeditVery little is known about Ariel's background though it's likely he originated from a fairly wealthy family. in the Stone Key the Herders are under the impression that Ariel was the son of Alexi, the adopted son of Marissa Seraphim but this is unlikely, despite their similar appearance, given Madam Vega's reference to Ariel as just another misfit. TheorieseditWhen Elspeth asked Gahltha if Ariel was the Destroyer, Gahltha replied that Ariel is "H'rayka" which in beast language means "bringer of destruction".
Elspeth took his reply as confirmation, however since Isobelle Carmody has said that Ariel may not in fact be the Destroyer, many fans have theorized that Gahltha may have actually been correcting Elspeth, saying that Ariel is not the Destroyer but in fact the one who will bring to destroyer to their destination.

Robert Albert George was born in 1955 to registered nurse Adele M. Saba and Antiochian Orthodox priest G. Robert George. He attended Boston Public schools, graduating from the Boston Latin School with honors in 1973 and thereafter from Northeastern University, graduating Summa Cum Laude from its College of Criminal Justice in 1977. After completing Suffolk University Law School in 1980, and internships in the Attorney General's Office, the United States Attorney's Office and the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office, George was appointed an Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk County, Massachusetts in December1980. Mr. George prosecuted cases while with Norfolk County District Attorney (now United States Congressman) William Delahunt's trial staff. He acted as co-counsel in fifteen (15) murder cases and acted as First Assistant District Attorney (former Superior Court Judge) Robert W. Banks' chief assistant until August 1982. Mr. George co-handled the prosecution of Bradford Prendergast in Massachusetts' first televised murder and death penalty case in 1980 whose conviction for first degree murder led to the reform of restraining order and stalking laws. Mr. George served as a Special Assistant Attorney General in the 1981 prosecution of Arnold Evans for the murder of Assistant District Attorney Edward T. Bigham III in Cambridge, Massachusetts co-handling the case and coordinating the safety of the cooperating co-defendant. He also served as legal counsel to the Ward Commission investigating and prosecuting corruption cases in Massachusetts public construction contracts. Mr. George entered private practice in August 1982 and became immediately involved in the case of Pennsylvania v. Banks, a murder case involving the deaths of thirteen men, women and children in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. As his law practice grew, Mr. George formed his own office in 1990 and has gone on to handle some of New England’s most celebrated and serious criminal cases. Mr. George was involved in the Big Dan’s New Bedford rape case representing Jose Medeiros, who was eventually acquitted. Attorney George has successfully defended Terrence Taylor, in the infamous Tiffany Moore murder case in which Taylor was found not guilty of first degree murder in a rare split verdict; Ted Jeffrey Otsuki, in a Suffolk County case involving the first degree murder prosecution of one of America's most wanted fugitives for killing a Boston Police Officer and wounding several others; William Bennett, in the nationally covered Carol Stuart murder case, in which Mr. George's client was framed by the real killer, who committed suicide when it was discovered that he and the Boston Police had wrongly accused Bennett; Anthony DiGrazia, in the New Bedford Serial Killings case; Robert Richardson, in a Suffolk County rape case in which Richardson, a National Hockey League scout and USA Hockey coach was acquitted by a jury; Shon McHugh, in a homicide case which caused the changing of juvenile transfer laws after he convinced a court to retain McHugh in the juvenile court in a case involving the stabbing of an MIT student in Cambridge; Ray and Shirley Souza, whose child abuse case gained national attention on the issues of false memory syndrome based on the expert testimony presented by Mr. George at trial; Christopher Hightower, whose entire 1994 triple murder case was covered by Rhode Island television and involved a disassociative personality defense. Mr. George’s clients have also included the victims and survivors of the 99 Restaurant quadruple murder case in Charlestown, as well as defendants in the United States Funding, Dime Savings Bank, ComFed Savings, and Barnstable Community Credit Union federal investigations. He also defended Edward O'Brien, a Somerville fifteen year old charged with first degree murder in 1995 in one of the most heavily covered criminal cases in Massachusetts history. This matter changed juvenile transfer laws for homicide in Massachusetts after George again successfully convinced a district court to retain jurisdiction of O'Brien. Attorney George also represents the Donahue Family in their wrongful death case against the federal government in the aftermath of corruption in the FBI’s Boston Office. He defended Rebecca and David Corneau in the Attleboro Cult homicide case, for whom he secured freedom after negotiating with and personally leading investigators to the Maine burial sights of alleged victims. Mr. George also handled the infamous Chinatown Massacre Case in which he defended Siny Van Tram for five counts of murder alleged to have occurred in 1991 in a Boston Social Club. Attorney George has defended crime boss Francis Salemme for obstruction of justice, State Police Sergeant Timothy White for drug trafficking, Bodybuilder CraigTitus in his extradition proceedings involving murder,“Black Widow” Margaret Rudin for homicide charges and businessman James Bunchan in his multi-million dollar fraud case. Mr. George’s most recent nationally covered criminal case involved his defense of Christopher McCowen for murder in the Truro homicide case of fashion writer Christa Worthington. He is a member of the Massachusetts, Federal and United States Supreme Court Bars, has appeared in cases the jurisdictions of Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and California. He has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating (AV) in criminal law, Lawyer of the Year Honors awarded by Lawyers Weekly and the Massachusetts Bar Association and has been selected as a Super Lawyer by Boston Magazine. He also has appeared many times on the television shows such as American Justice, Larry King, Oprah Winfrey, Phil Donahue, Today Show, Good Morning America, People Are Talking, Jerry Williams, Chronicle, Dateline, 48 Hours, HBO, MSNBC, CNN, Nancy Grace, Catherine Crier, Jami Floyd, Dan Abrams and Sally Jesse Raphael as well as on many other national and regional television and radio programs. His career was the subject of the award winning Our Times television program as well as of several profiles in many major newspapers and his cases have also been the subject of no less than thirteen books.

As a member of the Bunky Green Quartet, he was among the first musicians to introduce jazz education to the Montreux Jazz Festival. Jack has presented clinics and workshops at jazz festivals, music conventions, colleges and high schools throughout the United States, and is now available to do clinics online through the ALIVE Project (Accessible Live Internet Video Education). He is a staff artist/clinician for Yamaha Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Aquarian Drum Heads and Vic Firth Drum Sticks.

The carriers are paid a set amount for showing up and bagging their papers in their designated P.C.F. depot (Usually around 22 USD) and after that are paid by each paper they deliver which usually averages around 200-275 a week. P.C.F employes a small staff at each depot to handle paperwork and other normal office duties.

In 2003, Lough Ross held the Irish record for a pike catch of 41 pounds. The River Fane flows from Lough Ross through County Monaghan and flows into the sea on the County Louth Coast. The Lough is a bird sanctuary regularly used by local children to feed the ducks and swans. The lough is surrounded by contrasting landscaps, charming villages and bustling towns. The lough area lies west of Newry lies beautiful undulating countryside. The drumplin landscape around Crossmaglen and the legendary Ring of Gullion are steeped in Celtic mythology and this are is famed for its rich cultural heritage and its numerous prehistoric and early Christian sites. Turlough O'Neill, son of Sir Henry O'Nell, Chief of the Neills at Glassdrummond castle, planned the 1641 rebellion in the crannog at Lough Ross. Lauren Dukoff (born 1984) is an American photographer noted for her portraiture and documentary work of musicians. Lauren Dukoff was born in California. Her father is Barry Dukoff a commercial director and still photographer and her brother Devendra Banhart is a renowned folk musician. Lauren Dukoff briefly studied photography at the Brooks Institute but left after 1 year. She learned photography from her father and got her start by documenting her brother’s musical career. Lauren Dukoff has photographed Devendra Banhart, Kim Gordon, Beck, Mary J Blige, Sheryl Crow, Morrissey Noah Georgeson, Joanna Newsome, Vetiver, and a number of other musicians. Dukoff’s photos have appeared on the cover Rolling Stone and on the pages of Spin magazine, Elle Magazine, Harp Magazine, Nylon Magazine, The London Guardian and many other publications. It has also been said that the photographer is currently working on a photography book of her own. The rumored content of the will concentrate on the community of musicians surrounding her brother Devendra Banhart.
